Book Blogger Hop (8)

This is hosted by  And this week's question is...
“What keeps you reading beyond the first few pages of a book, and what makes you want to stop reading a book and put it back on the shelf?“

My Answer: There are a lot of things that make me read a book the voice, a character I would like to talk to, an interesting storyline, etc, etc.  Usually what makes me put down a book is a stupid stereotypical plot, character, or something else that is just childish.  Like the Clique series I couldn't survive through the first few chapters because those girls were just such brats and they weren't even doing anything interesting.
Thanks for reading this!  Do me a favor and check out the rest of my blog.  Pretty Please?

  1. I don't know why I keep reading a book. It's not the story. It's not the characters. I really don't know!

I'm hopping by to tell you that I've got a wonderful giveaway going on at my blog, Readerbuzz. It's international! During the Readerbuzz July Giveaway I'll be giving away a $25 Amazon gift card! I'd love to have you stop in and throw your name in the hat to win!

  2. New follower, hopping by! It's so important to feel a connection to the characters if I'm going to finish a book and continue with the series! Happy reading :)

  3. These book blogger hop questions just get better and better. This one looks easy but I think it’s a trick question. We all know it’s the same answer – the writing – but we all have different perspectives of what good writing is.

Hop on over to my blog at and read my three-prong answer as I explain why I’ll decide to pick up a book or put it down in under sixty seconds.

    Happy July 4th Weekend!

  4. Hopping through. I get frustrated with big stereotypes too. Then again, if it's a stereotype I like, I will still enjoy the book.
